Name: David Hebdon Position:Operations Director   Profile: David started his career within the industry during 1979 in a summer job with a Timber Merchant in Surrey. That summer job lasted for 16 years, starting by working in the yard and ending managing a five million pound turnover branch for what was by this time a branch within the Harcros group.

Working through every department at all levels has been a distinct advantage and has helped when confronted with operational issues ever since.

Finally David decided it was time to gain experience within another company and was tempted away from Harcros to Sharpe and Fisher to manage their Oxford operation, which was a combined plumbing, heating and heavyside merchant. After three years a call came from Buildbase and David gained further experience by joining Johnsons Buildbase in Cowley Oxford.

David joined Nicholls in June 2001, after making the decision that joining a strong independent merchant was the way forward. Having accepted the position of Operations Director in April 2004, David is looking forward to the challenge of ensuring the high standards of customer service are maintained and increasing the network of branches in the coming years.
